Why a Coach

Your life coach helps you . . .

See the Big Picture
A great life coach knows how to ask you laser focused questions and listen to your answers in such a way that she can hear what it is you are really saying behind the words you are speaking. She is trained to draw out the solutions that you already have within you. A life coach does not solve your problems for you but helps you see things with a new set of eyes, a fresh perspective, so that you can solve your own problems the way you decide. We all “get stuck” inside our own perceptions. A great life coach can help broaden your vision so you can move beyond your own self-imposed limitations.

Set and Meet Goals and Objectives
Everyone has abilities, experience, talents and gifts. Unfortunately, many of us never fully utilize all of them because we don’t (1) take the time to really decide what it is we want to accomplish with our lives, or (2) don’t believe we can reach our dreams, for any number of reasons. A good life coach knows how to help you discover what it is you really want and will help you set measurable objectives to get there. A great coach will encourage and push you along the way, one step and one goal at a time. With each accomplishment, you build inertia and you move forward with more confidence, power, and speed to the next step and the next, until you reach your ultimate goal.

Be Accountable
Your life coach holds you accountable for the action steps you commit to, and questions you about them the next time you meet. Because you know you are being held accountable, you it is easier to take the steps that you planned and committed to. This builds a lifetime habit of acting on your dreams – not just wishing for them to come true. Every action causes a reaction – everything you do causes something to happen. If you do nothing towards reaching your goals, you will never attain them. But if you take the steps you determine will get you there, I promise you your life will never be the same. A great life coach will hold your feet to the fire so that you can get where you want to go and do what you want to do.

Refresh and Renew
Life balance – something we all strive for but don’t all achieve – is the goal your life coach has for you. She encourages you to get balance in your life by taking the time to rest, rejuvenate and renew yourself on a regular and scheduled basis. There are tools and exercises your coach will use with you – i.e. The Wheel of Life – to help you identify the areas of your life that you may be neglecting or spending too much time in.
Ideally, we are giving the most time and attention to the things we most value in life. However, if we don’t make conscious choices about how to use our time, our lives can easily get out of balance and we may end up neglecting the very things we value above everything else. While it is important to strive towards the success we dream of in a career or volunteer project, it is equally important to take time for friends, family and outside activities in order to have a life that is fulfilled and satisfying.

When you take the time to see the big picture, set goals, be accountable for your actions, and renew yourself on a regular basis, you will soar towards your goals with more purpose and energy than you thought possible.
